John 15:7

7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

I often here people say in their prayers, "thy will be done", they say it so easily, but I often wonder how many of us really think about what Heavenly Father has in mind. I love the saying that God has bigger and better dreams for us than we could ever have for ourselves, I know he makes everyone better than what they can become on their own.

When one of my boys were younger, I think about 6 or 7 years , he wanted to drive our truck, not just sit on dads lap and pretend, but really be in control. Of course we said no every time he asked, he cried, he plead, he promised to clean his room but every time we said sorry, you can't drive the truck. About this same time I remember praying for Heavenly Father to give me what I thought I needed. During that prayer the thought of my little boy came into my mind. Is it smart, is it safe to hand over the keys to our truck to a 6 year old, the answer is no. The cool thing is I felt peace, I knew Heavenly Father heard my prayer, he was protecting me.

Have you every tried asking Heavenly Father what you should pray for? He has a wonderful life in store for you, let him guide you, pray that you will be everything he has in mind for you, and someday he will hand over the truck keys and you will be ready.

Have a great Day, Love Sister MaryAnn Jensen
